New training centre for JTL
JTL, a provider of work-based learning, has now opened its fourth dedicated training centre, to add to those in Birmingham, Norwich and South Yorkshire.
The new facility is located alongside the company’s headquarters in Orpington, Kent, and was officially opened by local MP, Jo Johnson, on 22 January in the presence of the Mayor of Bromley Borough, Councillor Kim Botting.
Following a significant investment by the company, the new centre provides training facilities for electrical apprentices with a capacity to provide training for 250 learners.
There are three new cohorts starting in February 2016 – a further 100 learners to add to the more than 6,000 that JTL is currently progressing through their apprenticeships across England and Wales.
The new training centre will also be used for ‘traineeships’ – pre-apprenticeship programmes for 16-18 year olds – to furnish them with improved work-readiness- and there are additional classrooms where short courses will be taught to existing professionals in both technical and wider business skills.
