Latest wave of ECA Energy Efficiency Advisors

A new wave of electrical contractors have been recognised as Energy Efficiency Advisors, after successfully completing a course run by the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) and global energy management specialists Schneider Electric.

The latest group of accredited Energy Efficiency Advisors were presented with their certificates earlier this month. The latest successes bring the number of ECA contractor staff who have passed, or are in the pipeline, to over 40, with more joining the scheme every month.

The latest contractors to complete the course (from left to right in the attached photo) are: Anthony Tristram (A.J. Taylor Electrical), Tom Griffiths (Chord Engineering), Simon Webb (Chord Engineering), Tim Clark (AC Electrical), Andy Hartley (GCL), and Peter Chapman (Hannington Gilbert).

ECA head of energy solutions Bill Wright commented: “Congratulations to the latest wave of ECA Energy Efficiency Advisors who have successfully passed this leading course run by energy management experts Schneider Electric.

“Many ECA members already have exceptional in-company energy efficiency knowledge, and this course gives them the confidence to show clients how they can save money and reduce their energy footprint.”

Schneider Electric customer marketing manager Louise Smith added: “This programme continues to go from strength to strength and we are pleased to be working in partnership with the ECA. The EEA will help contractors make sense of their customer’s energy use so they can identify energy and cost savings across the board.”

Since autumn last year, the ECA energy efficiency accreditation has been running on Schneider Electric’s web-based Energy University. With over 200 free courses to choose from, Energy University offers a wide array of course topics including: energy efficiency, building controls and automation, lighting, HVAC, data centres, industrial systems, electric systems, healthcare and more.

Successful applicants receive a certificate and can use an ECA ‘Energy Efficiency Advisor’ logo to highlight their individual skill, on behalf of their company, to clients, such as businesses, councils and households.
