Automation equipment on order for Wallop Defence Systems
R.Stahl has been chosen as the preferred supplier for automation equipment to Wallop Defence Systems (WDSL).
Wallop Defence Systems, a division of Esterline Technologies, has 60 years of experience and expertise in defence pyrotechnics. The company has been engaged in research, development and production of a wide range of advanced pyrotechnic devices for use in land-based, maritime and airborne applications of armed forces across the world.
The requirement for R.Stahl product is driven by the moral requirement to reduce the risks that operators face to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable. There are currently no individual standards or directives for the certification of equipment to be used specifically with explosives.
The project consists of EX d monitors, open HMI PC's and 24 compact colour cameras. In addition, R. Stahl have been able to supply a selection of cables and terminal boxes. All products needed to be Atex certified for both gas and dust environments.
Future plans could see further orders from WDSL for monitors, plugs and sockets and lighting equipment.
R.Stahl can offer specialised solutions for switchgear, lighting, automation and system solutions. Products from the range can be customised where necessary and include a 12 month RTB warranty as standard.
