LED specialist commended at Rushlight Awards

LED specialist Light Planet has been commended in two categories at this year's Rushlight Awards.

The Rushlight Awards recognise the leading clean technology developers in the UK and Ireland. Light Planet were commended in both the Energy Reduction Category and in the Environmental Management Group Award.

Light Planet's entry focused on its range of NeoBulb LED lights. The fixtures are engineered using a heat dissipation system that allows them to operate at ultra-high power with high luminous flux, whilst maintaining low thermal junction temperature.

"LED technology represents a quick but significant win in the drive to reduce energy consumption. Our NeoBulb range is an excellent example of the rapid advances seen in this technology in recent years. We are now in a position where we can compete directly with traditional technology whilst offering considerable savings and enhanced performance. We are delighted that these developments have been recognised by the Rushlight Awards", commented Light Planet managing director, Simon Leggett.

The Rushlight Awards were announced at a Gala Dinner at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. The event included a keynote address from the minister of state at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Greg Barker.
