Contactless switching
With its non-contact switches of the AVP series, Panasonic Electric Works offers solutions to detect the presence of metallic objects without touching them.
The AVP series complies with protection class IP67. The AVP series switches function according to the electromagnetic effect generated by the coil. This has several advantages for the user. As the objects to be identified are detected without any contact, there is no mechanical stress, whereby a very high product lifetime can be guaranteed.
Other advantages of non-contact switches are that they are highly resistant to shock and vibration and are able to detect metals even if there are moulded parts between the switch and the metal. Thanks to its special design, an AVP series switch is far less sensitive towards external magnetic fields than a Hall effect sensor. As no magnets are being used, metal particles do not stick to the switch.
