Ethercat conformance across AC and servo range
All of Control Techniques AC and servo drive ranges have passed the EtherCAT Conformance tests at the Beckhoff Automation Test Centre in Nuremberg, Germany.
This follows attendance at an EtherCAT ‘Plug Fest' where all of the drives were shown to be fully compatible with EtherCAT equipment from other vendors.
The SM-EtherCAT module that provides this real time high-speed connectivity is for use with Control Techniques' full range of AC and servo drives, from 0.37 kW simple conveyor or pump control, through high precision servo applications to high power 1.9 MW multi-mode drives. This allows customers to standardise their network across the whole machine. The module will be able to read and write cyclic data of five, 32 bit drive parameters every 250µs, synchronising to the drive's position or speed loop to the communications network, improving overall system performance.
"We are delighted in this recognition by the EtherCAT Technology Group," says Control Techniques' product manager for system integration products, Imad Rajraji.
