Titanium tube specialist adds water heaters to product range

Specialist titanium tubes manufacturer and supplier, Titanium Products has added the  Backersafe range of titanium sheathed immersion heaters to its product range.

Used primarily in domestic hot water systems in hard and/or aggressive water areas, titanium sheathed elements have been available as an alternative to copper and nickel alloy for some time. Their long lifetime benefits against scale build-up and corrosion have been proven. Well-documented examination and comparison of nickel alloy and titanium elements after many years' service in domestic installations have demonstrated minimal scale build-up on titanium elements compared with heavy encrustation on nickel alloy.

Titanium Products has selected the Backer Electric Company  range of Backersafe titanium sheathed heaters. Manufactured to the latest issue of BSEN60335-2-73, Backersafe ensures the immersion heater is isolated from the mains supply should the primary thermostat fail with the contacts closed. This meets the specification requirements aimed at eliminating the risk of boiling water. With technology approved by BEAB, Backersafe heaters feature a standard low cost thermostat with an additional reset button thermostat in series with the rod thermostat. Should the primary thermostat fail, a low cost replacement can be fitted and the protected thermostat reset.

Available online through the Titanium Products website, standard heaters can be supplied ex stock in a range of lengths. Special sizes can be made to order. All are BEAB approved and come with a 5 year guarantee on the element sheath and 12 months on the heater assembly.
