Reach for the stars
Luxo has introduced a new series of three large pendant luminaires, the Oulo, Kemi and Alice. Created by renowned Swedish designer Olle Anderson, which are ideal for large spaces and give excellent indirect light.
Oulo has an inner light source enclosed in a cylinder of optical acrylic and concentric horizontal rings which join together to form a sphere. The rings, which are all of the same width, are mounted on four chrome plated arms.
Kemi's inner light source is also enclosed in optical acrylic and its concentric horizontal rings form a vertical ellipsoid. The different width rings enclose the acrylic cylinder tightly. Its arms and other load bearing elements are chrome plated.
Both Oulo and Kemi's ring shaped blinds prevent a direct view of the light source from below.
Alice is a white opal glass pendant, its metal parts can be lacquered or chrome plated.
Ice, cold, and a frosty Arctic landscape were images that Olle Anderson had in mind when he designed these new luminaires for Luxo - they are manufactured to the company's usual high standard, have a five year guarantee and reflect the company's practical, ergonomic design philosophy.
