Conduit solutions at OE 2009
Kopex International, Offshore Europe, Aberdeen, 8-11 September, 2009, Stand No: 1276
Kopex-Ex, part of the Cable Management Group, is highlighting its capability in electrical conduit systems for the offshore industry at OE 2009. All Kopex products have been tested as pieces of equipment. This allows them to be used in conjunction with any other equipment without the need for re-testing - particularly advantageous in the thread converter and stopping plug market as competitive products are tested as components.
At OE 2009 Kopex-Ex is also highlighting the advantages of conduit over cable in many applications. For example, with multiple cable entries there are considerations such as system integrity/weak links; time in cable preparation and associated costs. Cables can be difficult to handle and manage whilst there is also the possibility of having to oversize encloses in order to terminate.
Specialist cable is often needed for such applications and even with this, cable strain points are often created around glands. There is potential compression damage to fragile data cable and it is difficult to modify without replacing the gland plate.
