High efficiency PFC chokes deliver up to 99% efficiency
New highly compact chokes that can deliver power factor correction solutions with up to 99% efficiency are available from MMG MagDev.
AMS Harmony(tm) Choke range from MMG delivers an exceptionally high performance power factor correction (PFC) solution to EN61000-3-2. Harmony chokes offer the lightest, most compact and most efficient PFC solution for power supply designs from 500W. AMS has created them using state of the art magnetic materials, optimised windings and an innovative, highly efficient component geometry. There are eight standard models in the range, which can be obtained from MMG MagDev. As a result of its relationship with AMS, MMG can also offer custom Harmony chokes where the standard products do not meet a customer's needs.
According to MMG, Harmony chokes represent the next generation of PFC solutions, delivering the required performance in a form that is smaller, lighter and more efficient. The innovative design of these chokes also results in lower winding capacitance, lower winding losses and a lower temperature rise. Harmony chokes offer ultra high energy storage, robust construction, UL94V-0 compliance and UL Temp Class F compliance.
