Miniature spring probe contact connectors from Harwin
High-reliability connector maker, Harwin has just added miniature P20 spring probe contact connectors to its product portfolio P20 spring probe contact connectors maintain a positive force against a mating surface. With very low mating forces connection is rapid, effortless and user-friendly, and significant mating misalignments can be tolerated.
Available in two, three, four and five way configurations, P20 connectors can handle up to 1A at a voltage of 12V DC. Contact resistance is 50m? max; insulation resistance is 100 M? min. Operating temperature range is -40 to +85degC and the connectors are guaranteed for 10,000 operations. Two way devices measure 3.9mm in height, while three and four-way styles are 3.4mm high and five way units stand 4.5mm tall.
Comments Paul Gillam, Harwin's Commercial Product Manager: "We are well-established as suppliers of the Hot Shoe range of spring-loaded, positive contact connectors, but these devices are much smaller. The new P20 spring contact connectors especially suit price-sensitive, high volume consumer applications, such as portable equipment where separate battery modules are used, and also data transfer docking stations."
Parts are available via Harwin's distribution network. Full details are to be found at http://www.harwin.com/. Other sizes and configurations are also available.
