STEGO - Go with the Flow!

STEGO the leading manufacturer of anti-condensation heaters for panels and enclosures, has developed a range of Air-Flow monitors recently launched in the UK market, by STEGO UK in Epsom, Surrey.

STEGO who also manufacture their own range of Filter-Fans recognised a need in the market for a cost effective method of monitoring airflow in filter fans and the axial fan market.

Once filter fans or axial fans are installed in the enclosure or panel, how does the customer recognize when a fan failure or blockage occurs?
Normally the first time anyone notices either fan failure or blockage is (i) during routine maintenance procedure, or (ii) when the electrical or electronic components malfunction or fail.

The STEGO Air-flow monitors provide a simple, economical but reliable mechanical means to indicate positive or negative airflow of a fan. The Air-flow monitors can be ordered with a normally closed (NC) or a normally open (NO) contacts. The NC unit will close a circuit upon fan failure initiating an optical or audible alarm. The NO unit will allow customers to monitor a continuous signal indicating the fans are functioning properly.

When properly installed and connected in series with a signal device, a bi-directional switch will activate an electrical contact if the air-flow falls below 2.5m/s (8.2 ft/s), thus either turning the signal device on or off.

The airflow monitors can be purchased individually or already installed on a range of plastic finger guards (80x80mm, 92x92mm or 120x120mm). Alternatively and even more beneficial to the customer in terms of cost, time and labour savings – the air-flow monitors (NC) can be ordered pre-installed and attached to STEGO’s range of Filter Fans.
