Aiding compliance
Recent legislation requires the original fire resistance and acoustic rating of ceilings be preserved when installing luminaries. To help the trade comply with Part P of the Building Regulations, Rexel Senate has recently launched a range of fire and acoustic downlighters.
Peter Shields from Rexel Senate says; “The downlighters are quick and easy to install and feature two intumescent gaskets; one to seal the body to the ceiling and another at the back of the luminaire to seal the vent and cable holes ensuring the ceiling integrity is maintained. In addition, the range is specially designed to direct heat away from the ceiling void increasing the fire resistance time.”
