Advantage Venture
Venture Lighting has supplied its high output tubular metal halide lamps and control gear as part of the improvements to the Centre Court at Wimbledon.
The lamps, supplied by Colchester based OEM, Supalux and via Newey & Eyre at Park Royal, were installed by Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil as part of a multi-million pound improvement project that included increasing seating capacity to 15,000 and installing a retractable roof over the Centre Court. The folding ,translucent fabric concertina design roof structure, which can close in approximately 8 minutes, was in place for the 2009 Championships tennis tournament that took place in June/July.
With the lighting conditions of paramount importance for the players, spectators and for television reporting - especially with the requirements for HD coverage - Venture's lamps have been used to illuminate the north and south walls to allow the relief lighting.
The 2,000W rated high output tubular metal halide lamps offer fast warm up times, long life along with high colour stability and excellent colour rendering.
