Andromeda lights up historic music venue
Colston Hall is enjoying a facelift, with a lighting control solution supplied by Andromeda.
The £20m redevelopment has seen the addition of a stunning new glass-fronted foyer with recycled copper cladding. This new space will provide additional performance areas, a new box office, a café bar, upgraded education facilities and improved disabled access. The atrium also houses staircases and link walkways with the older parts of the historic hall.
Andromeda's solution consists of a 6-floor scheme, covering office space, the box office and bars, and the central atrium. The complete solution utilises DALI with full emergency test functionality, daylight linking, scene setting and time control. The atrium lighting also includes theatrical lighting. The system can also be controlled centrally via colour touch screen panels.
David Payne, Andromeda's project manager for Colston Hall, says: "Following the successful delivery of the O2 Dublin, Colston Hall strengthens Andromeda's expanding music venue portfolio, and we look forward to completing many more similar projects".
The official foyer opening is in September 2009.
