Packing a punch with energy efficiency
Construction materials distributor Wolseley is supplying high efficiency boilers to the Spirit Group as part of Spirit's carbon reduction programme.
Spirit Group, which is the managed division of the pub company, Punch Taverns, is implementing the programme in 400 of its pubs nationwide, as it strives to reduce its carbon emissions by 17% before 2010.
Wolseley already supplies various PIR occupancy sensor switching units and energy efficient light bulbs to the pubs via its Electric Center business, and is now supplying condensing boilers and water heaters to markedly increase the efficiency compared to the existing systems.
Sean Collins, Wolseley's sector director, said: "We are delighted to continue to work closely with this leading company in its bid to reduce its carbon footprint.
"Wolseley's extensive branch network and efficient supply chain mean we can respond quickly and effectively to meet the requirements of each individual pub."
Punch Taverns' facilities team has also recently visited Wolseley's new Sustainable Building Center in Leamington Spa, where it had the opportunity to see the latest renewable technologies and the wide range of real-world sustainable, energy-efficient and recycled building products available today through Wolseley's nationwide branch network.
