EMC test facility becomes CB testing laboratory
TÜV Product Service’s EMC testing laboratory at Bearley has become an IECEE accredited CB Testing Laboratory after an intensive audit and peer assessment programme by members of the CB scheme.
The Bearley facility in the West Midlands is TÜV Product Service’s second UK laboratory to achieve this distinction, enabling it to issue CB certificates, now recognised in more than 45 countries worldwide.
The CB scheme is based on the principle of IECEE members’ mutual recognition ofelectrical safety and EMC test results and is one of the world’s first international systems for obtaining product approval and certification. The CB scheme is currently used by over 15,000 manufacturers and over 50,000 certificates were issued during 2006. Further details of product compliance requirements can be found on the IECEE website – www.iecee.org
TÜV Product Service’s approval means CB product testing can either be undertaken in its laboratories or at manufacturers’ own premises under the supervision of CBTL personnel.
