Cable management manufacturer Marshall-Tufflex has announced a multi-million pound investment programme in tooling, plant, automation and customer services at its production facilities and headquarters in Hastings, East Sussex.

This major project will deliver improvements in the company’s already high levels of customer service and product quality, with the move reinforcing the manufacturer’s commitment to high production values and on-going product innovation.

Paul Hetherington, Marshall-Tufflex chief executive, said: “Marshall-Tufflex is the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of cable management systems, a position achieved through continual investment in the business and focus on great products and great customer service. This latest investment cements our market-leading position and, perhaps more importantly, ensures our customers have access to the best, most appropriate products at the right time.”

The company has taken delivery of a 3D printer, now an integral and important part of its product development process, and three premium quality injection moulding machines to provide improved production flexibility and cycle time savings. These machines, together with planned investment in production automation, support the company’s commitment to manufacturing high quality products whilst maintaining energy efficient methods at every step of the process (Marshall-Tufflex has recently been recognised by the BSI as a firm of Assessed Capability to BS EN ISO 50001:2011 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004). In addition Marshall-Tufflex is gearing up for the introduction of BIM across government projects next year.

Investment is also being made in the IT infrastructure, improving the ordering/delivery process and a new telephone system will introduce call logging and monitoring, improve response times and allow for improved staff training. This is in addition to improvements in the company’s Same Day Collection service for electrical distributors, which has been extended with longer opening hours (from 7am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday). Account-holding electrical distributors can now collect cable management orders just two hours after placement from Marshall-Tufflex depots in London and Manchester and next day from its depot in Hastings, a service unrivalled in the industry. Orders placed after 3.30pm can be collected from 7am the next working day.
