Electrical cable manufacturer Tratos Cavia Spa, parent company of UK distribution subsidiary Tratos, is pleased to announce the completion of a €6m extension to its factory in Arezzo, Italy.

The Pieve Santo Stefano site is the main manufacturing facility for Tratos, producing fibre optic cables, telecommunication cables with copper conductor, power cables up to 19/33 kW, signalling cables and instrumentation cables.

As part of a planned consistent growth, the new €6m extension will house Tratos' new Continuous Vulcanisation line for completely dry curing of polymeric high voltage cables up to 132kV. These will be available in the UK shortly.

Tratos not only stocks electric and fibre optic cables in the UK, but also has a manufacturing facility based in Knowsley, Merseyside. Its product range includes single and multi conductor high temperature, fire resistant, low smoke and fume, rubber, energy cables from low voltages up to 132kV, railway, motorway, data, fibre optic, oil and gas, ship wiring, drum reeling and telecommunications, as well as cathodic protection, airfield lighting, composite and bespoke cables.
